MEMBERS

Members are responsible for creating all the content found on NMFilmForum.com. The more active a member you are, the more rewarding and rich an experience you will have. You can add content to the site in a number of different ways, many of which were touched upon in the preceding “Getting Started” section in this post. Please take the time to create an informative profile and then contribute to the discussions and collaborations on the site through the Groups, Forums and Screening Room. Please also feel free to friend other members and encourage other people to join.

Another great way to participate in the site is to submit your own Op-Ed Article to possibly be featured on our Home Page. This makes it extremely easy to share your unique point of view with all our members in a direct way. You can find instructions on how to submit your Op-Ed Article in Group #4 Op-Ed Articles.

GROUPS

The primary functions of the Groups are to help organize all the topics posted in the Forums and to help members communicate and collaborate in meaningful ways. We do not allow members to create Groups because we do not want to bog down the Forums or the site in general with too many Groups that might potentially make posting to the Forums a more difficult and unorganized process. NMFilmForum.com has attempted to create enough Groups to ensure that there is an appropriate place to post all potential topics members might have. If a member wants to suggest a potential Group, they can do so through the Contact Page.

FORUMS

The primary function of the Forums is to serve as a fully-functioning, all-inclusive online bulletin board where members can post information they would like to share with the entire NMFilmForum.com community. In the Forums, members can find information on a myriad of subjects including Casting Calls, Employment & Educational Opportunities, Screenings and general opportunities to collaborate with other members in many exciting ways. Members can also post their filmmaking questions and comments in the Forums and seek feedback from the rest of the NMFilmForum.com community.

We ask members to post their Forums topics under the appropriate Group they correspond to in order to keep the site organized.

SCREENING ROOM

The Screening Room is designed to showcase NMFilmForum.com members’ work in a centralized location. You can share your work in the Screening Room by first submitting your videos to our Official Vimeo Channel by:

  1. Uploading your video to Vimeo.
  2. Posting the link to your Vimeo video under Group 28. Screening Room.
  3. Contacting us through the Contact Page with the link to your Vimeo video.

We will then attempt to add your video to our Vimeo Channel and the Screening Room so that it can be enjoyed by all.

QUESTIONS & COMMENTS

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) can be found on the How to Use This Site & FAQ’s page in the Navigation section. Members can also share their questions and comments with the NMFilmForum.com staff through the Contact Page. We will attempt to respond to your inquiries as quickly as possible.

Welcome to New Mexico Film Forum

7:07 PM in Featured by Featured Articles

Welcome to New Mexico Film Forum, the premier social network specifically designed to serve the New Mexico film community and support the growth and enrichment of a truly self-sustained New Mexico film industry.

New Mexico Film Forum is primarily designed to encourage communication within the local film community and to provide a platform for film professionals and fans to network and collaborate. You are therefore invited to register for New Mexico Film Forum, create a profile, and socialize with the other members of our online community.

It is supremely important that at a time when much uncertainty surrounds the future of the local industry, we, the members of the New Mexico film community, gather together to cultivate camaraderie both inside and outside our industry. We must work with all the citizens of our great state to truly develop an industry that benefits the largest population possible while also rewarding the many talented local film professionals who work hard every day to make New Mexico a major player on the national filmmaking stage.

For some time now, our local film industry has been portrayed as being an isolated, privileged entity concerned only with taking from our state and giving little back. However skewed that view might be, it is our industry’s responsibility now more than ever to prove our worth, not to simply demand that others take us at face value. We cannot simply make our survival a matter of dollars and cents. We must demonstrate the many ways New Mexico benefits from having a vibrant, busy and growing industry, and we must do so with patience and civility.

This is not a time to turn to anger. This is not a time to take sides. This is the time to unite to strengthen and sustain our industry by demonstrating a fundamental and unwavering truth:

We care about making New Mexico Film work for New Mexico.

Like a great many of you, I am immensely grateful and pleased that I can pursue the career that I love in the state that I love. And I hope to continue to do so for a very long time. But I realize I cannot and do not want to do this alone.

I founded this site to serve as a centralized hub where all eager participants in the local film community and all concerned citizens outside of it can gather together and work side-by-side to create a film industry that all New Mexicans can be proud of. I hope that many of you can share in this vision and contribute to this site in a large way.

So once again, welcome to New Mexico Film Forum. Now let’s get to work.
